The Trustees and committee of PDT Norfolk are volunteers and there are no salaried personnel. All the funds raised by PDT Norfolk will, therefore, be used to help deliver the charity's objective to bring PDT treatment to Norfolk.
Initially this will involve implementing the charity's communications plan, which is designed to enlist the maximum support possible for the introduction of PDT treatment in Norfolk for the benefit of local cancer patients. Funding for this has already been secured from the National Lottery's "Awards for All" scheme.
Funds raised over the next few years will be used to sponsor key research projects, aimed at demonstrating the benefit of PDT treatment for many types of cancer. It is hoped that the outcome of these projects will persuade the Norfolk medical community to adopt PDT treatment for local cancer patients.
When the Norfolk medical community have been persuaded to adopt Photodynamic Therapy treatment for their cancer patients, it is PDT Norfolk's intention to continue their fundraising efforts in order to assist with the purchase of the necessary equipment and provision of facilities.
